Former Purdue basketball star Caleb Swanigan has died at the age of 25, according to the Allen County Coroner's Office.
Swanigan, who also played in the NBA for the Portland Trail Blazers, died Monday of natural causes at a hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana, according to the coroner's office.
No further details about Swanigan's death were immediately available.
Swanigan was a consensus five-star recruit coming out of Homestead High School in Fort Wayne and was named Indiana's Mr. Basketball in 2015.
He played one season at Purdue, where he averaged 10.2 points and 9.1 rebounds per game and was named to the All-Big Ten Freshman Team.
Swanigan was drafted by the Portland Trail Blazers with the 26th overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft.
He played two seasons with the Trail Blazers, averaging 2.3 points and 2.9 rebounds per game.
Swanigan also played for the Sacramento Kings and Indiana Pacers during his NBA career.
