Governor-Elect Andy Beshears Stances on Key Issues

Abortion

In one of the most personal exchanges of their campaign for governor, Gov. Andy Beshear and GOP Attorney General Daniel Cameron discussed their differing views on abortion. Beshear, a Democrat, supports abortion rights and has said he would veto any legislation that would restrict access to abortion.

Equal Rights

Beshear has also been a vocal supporter of equal rights for LGBTQ Kentuckians. He has said he would work to pass legislation that would protect LGBTQ people from discrimination in housing, employment, and public accommodations.

Gun Laws

Beshear has said he opposes this bill and believes it would make Kentucky less safe.
