Manish Dayal: From Bollywood Stardom to Hollywood Success

Early Life and Bollywood Career

Manish Dayal was born in Indore, India, on June 18, 1983. He studied engineering at the University of Delhi before pursuing a career in acting. Dayal made his Bollywood debut in the 2008 film Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na and quickly gained recognition for his portrayal of Nitin. He starred in several successful Bollywood films, including Vicky Donor (2012) and Shuddh Desi Romance (2013).

Breakthrough in Hollywood

In 2015, Dayal made his Hollywood debut in the critically acclaimed film The Hundred-Foot Journey. His performance as sous chef Hassan Kadam earned him a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination. Dayal has since starred in a number of Hollywood films and television series, including The Resident (2018-present). In 2022, he received the Asian American Media Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor for his role in The Resident.

Versatility and Social Activism

Dayal is known for his versatility as an actor, having played a wide range of roles in both Bollywood and Hollywood.
